Grazvyda Andrijauskaité

I was born in 1980 in Kaunas (Lithuania, European Union) in artists' family (a

ceramicist father and a musician mother). Artistical environment surrounded me from

an early childhood, I often spent days in my father’s ceramics studio, he also did some

paintings as well. Painting sessions took lots of my time in school days. So becoming

an artist was a natural and inevitable thing as well as a family tradition.

Graduation from Kaunas (Lithuania) High School of Art in 1999 was followed by

studies in Vilnius (Lithuania) Academy of Arts from 1999 to 2003 (bachelor degree

acquired) where graphic art and traditional intaglio printing became main course of

the studies and was assured by graphic art studies in the same facility for master

degree from 2003 to 2005.

I'm a full-time artist working in my own studio equipped with an etching press

established at home in my hometown.

Printmaking is my life’s passion, my world of art, no other mediums of art allow me to

express myself more than making images on a plate.

I am passionate about traditional intaglio techniques: etching, aquatint, dry-point are

my favorite ones.
